Mitzpeh Ramon and hike in the south, by Edison

Mitzpeh Ramon is a small, underdeveloped town containing less than 4,000 people in southern Israel.  Young Zionists come here to give to the community and make a change.  Our tour guide first took us to a giant crater, which is a huge tourist attraction here.  After that, we walked to one of the town’s two medical clinics and learned the city does not always have full access to special doctors in case someone needs a specialist. Then we walked in front of the elementary school and talked about how the kids cannot learn without good teachers and how important it is to bring good educators to the area to help it grow. We learned that people own co ops and that is a successful way to run a business, especially supermarkets, which saves residents about 20%.  It was very interesting to learn the importance of developing small towns in the south to help these communities succeed and flourish.

We then took an amazing hike through the south.
